My Story In Short
Where I'm From and Where I Intend to Go

I am a Buffalo, NY native, born to the 'City of Good Neighbors'. My experience growing up in this incredible city has allowed me to develop a unique perspective about success and hardship. Having come from an under-resourced education system, I've seen many talented individuals fall to the wayside, due to lack of exposure, opportunity, and guidance. And although I have been fortunate enough to pursue my passion for neuroscience research, I know first-hand that the road to higher education is not well-defined. Individuals from such underserved communities are presented with challenges and obstacles, unrelated to their academic ability, that can make such aspirations seem unattainable.
This is especially true for careers in science and medicine. Even more significant than inadequate opportunity is the lack of awareness of these career options. I have come to realize that in addition to a reformed pathway to careers in science and medicine, outreach is integral for our next generation of young innovators. Outside of the lab, I have put considerable effort towards combating these issues via mentorship, science communication, and science policy. Yet the work is far from done.
I created this site as an anchoring point in forging new initiatives directed at making science and medicine a more equitable place. From promoting the inclusion of those underrepresented in these fields, to directing research and innovation to areas and communities that have been historically overlooked. I look forward to connecting with you, so hit me up here.
